Hosting an event:  

Hosting events is a fantastic way for alumni to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen the community. Events can be held in person or online and should align with the broader goals to create meaningful opportunities for learning, inspiring and connecting the ANU alumni community. 

Submit an to confirm your event idea and request support.

Your activities might include:

  • community outreach and volunteering - e.g. mentoring, charity drives, sports days, tree planting or food collection
  • memorable experiences and activities - e.g. speed networking, guided tours, hands-on workshops or exhibition visits
  • fundraising and advocacy - e.g. fun runs, panel discussions, giving campaigns, lectures or webinars
  • professional development opportunities - e.g. guest speakers, leadership training, industry-specific workshops, seminars or mentoring
  • cultural and community engagement - e.g. food festivals, cultural performances, storytelling events or alumni showcases.

If submitted five weeks in advance, the ANU Alumni team can provide:

  • up to three email invitations (Save the Date, Invite, Reminder)
  • social media promotion
  • help with messaging, talking points, and sourcing speakers
  • an event kit and ANU Alumni volunteer shirts.

Once support is confirmed, complete the to finalise the details of your event.

For safety and planning, ensure:

  • public liability and are completed, together with the
  • all logistics and accessibility needs are addressed
  • you use helpful tools like the .

After the event, share attendance records, photos, and a short evaluation report with the ANU Alumni team — we love seeing how things went.
 

Writing articles:  

Writing and sharing alumni articles is an excellent method to connect with our global alumni community – meeting our busy alumni where they are with content that matters most. From stories of inspiring alumni and everyday heroes to alumni-led research and entrepreneurship or even the best hidden cafes every student should know on campus – there are so many exciting stories to share with our ANU Community.
